Actually, fraudulent immigration consultants are a problem in a number of immigrant communities. Talking with friends, it seems that one particular community that is very much affected by this problem is the East Indian (or South Asian) community. Even the government of India is trying to take steps against such consultants. I think perhaps some people want to come to Canada so much that they’ll grasp at any chance to do so. I suppose the best advice is “look before you leap” – an English expression that means be careful before taking a big and sometimes impulsive step.
I’ve heard such incredible stories of people trying to immigrate here at any cost that’s almost impossible to believe. And most of them are from people from India and Pakistan, as you remarked.
The point is, you don’t need anybody’s help, the process is so well explained that any person can do it by him/herself. I wouldn’t take the chance.
Oi Pedro.
